 JOHN CHAMBERS 1922 - 2001
Make-up for "The Warlord"
Oscar-Award -winning makeup artist and special effects wizard, JOHN CHAMBERS, who created the remarkable transformations in the PLANET OF THE APE films, lent his talents to “I Spy” as a favor to Robert Culp.
As such, JOHN CHAMBERS was not a member of the “I Spy” creative team. But his makeup artistry for THE WAR LORD is a creative achievement worthy of note.
He developed the look “on spec” over many weeks, and the final product went a long way to put the character of Kelly Robinson out of our minds as Robert Culp played the part of Chuang Tzu.
