In the next scene, Mickey relates what has happened to Princess Amara and Elroy from his observations in the hotel. Then he says, “c'mon men, we've got them outnumbered.” They proceed to get into Elroy's room, Kelly climbing out onto a ledge to get in through a window , Scotty and the bellboy from the hall door via a ruise.
They overcome the guards, and Kelly finds Elroy in a fever. “Get her back,” he whispers. “I'll make you a deal. Better than the one you made me.” He says he will even expose the phoney Afro-Asian games if they get Amara back. “You can't even walk,” Kelly tells him when Elroy volunteers to go downstairs and blow the whistle at the conference.

Informed by Kelly that there is typhus on board, the airport control tower orders Amara's plane not to take off, but Kelly goes for direct action. As the plane starts to taxi,he commandeers an open vehicle, but has to fight off a conspirator. Then he drives the vehicle right into the rolling plane, jumping off at the last minute, and injuring his arm. Authorities arrive.
Scotty informs the feverish Elroy that Amara is safe, and he mutters, “OK, Let's go.” Scotty points out that Elroy can't even move, but Elroy replies, “I've given my word. I haven't given my word to anyone in a long time.” Scotty removes a needle from his belt, and explains that it's both a pain killer and a stimulant that will get Elroy on his feet or out cold. Scotty manages to get Elroy up and into the elevator, but he then realizes that the conference interpreter, a stooge of the Chinese, will not translate what Elroy says. “He's the only guy within a thousand miles of here who can translate Swahili.” Linguist Scotty replies, “you probably never looked under my shirt to see the big red S, did you?”

In the conference room Tsung begins to deliver his speech. Scotty and Elroy enter. Elroy staggers to the podium to the applause of the delegates. “Hit the showers, punk,” he says to Tsung, and he crumples the phony speech.
Scotty replaces the translator at gunpoint, and Elroy tells the delegates, “I'm not here because I believe in the Afro Asian games. I'm here because I'm a traitor. Because I defected from my country. I sold out my country and myself to a bunch of fakes. Like that one going out the door.”

As he begins to fade, Elroy adds, “so you see, I did it for money. A whole lot of money. That makes me smart. The smartest man in the room. You're doing it for nothin'.”
Elroy tells the delegates that they should organize the games themselves, and he will help them, then adds, “But now, I just want to go home.” He departs to a standing ovation, and Scotty leaves the translation booth, shaking hands with the interpreters, still holding them at gunpoint.

The Chinese are arrested, and as a reward for his help, Scotty and Kelly take Mickey out to a movie. “The adventures of Double O7,” says the bellboy, as the James Bond theme rises. Kelly groans, but Scotty says, “Don't knock the competition. You may learn something. Listen, this guy is really wonderful. Not only does he get the woman, but he gets them painted all colors of the rainbow. It's called wide screen integration. “ As they depart, he adds, “you need a refresher course. I've been watching you, and you've been slipping.”
